Algorithm - a process or set of rules to be followed in calculations or other problem-solving operations, especially by a computer.

Algorithm for children - a set of rules to follow

You may be wondering what Algorithms have to do with soft toys….if you weren’t before I expect you are now!

Let me tell you that when we were running the face-to-face sessions the children all loved a toy. These sessions were with 3 and 4 year old children so I knew that I had to utilise something familiar to children to help them understand algorithms.

So, that’s what I did. We made our soft toys dance. Our algorithm was a set of moves that the soft toy had to follow.
